    Makerbase VESC 84200HP 84V 200A (possible bug)

Well I jumped and ordered the new Makerbase VESC 84200HP 84V 200A vesc, This post will get more facts added as I explore it. I'm happy with the build quality but not the cable clearances for power/phase and the aux out(sig) is not working in fact putting voktage on it can fry the processor...

Anyone familiar with this ML7280 clone?

not very waterproof...... I never did get anything other than basic functions and poor slow performance, kinda glad to see it gone, most useful part is the heatsink.....

Reading data from my sabvoton controller

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! the code is gone lol, i'm just trying to do something like this with one of the clones, i soldered on a usb/ttl that i have a boxful of from my arduino bits but i'm not seeing any data flow from the controllers rx/tx, in fact they dont even seem 'right' as wired either way i get...

    APL's V4 Cruiser Build.

APL did you ever find working software for this controller you modded, mine wasnt working as expected and during investigation decided to short its fets.... i was happy with the power but the top speed was 30mph then it would shut down. (mxus 3k turbo in a 19 motorbike wheel)

    replacement mosfet suggestions

yesterday i tried the 36 combination sheet as i had issue with the controller tripping out after 30mph or so. found 'best' combination still same. decided to do it again to double check my work, got so far through the sheet and boom... just went short on one phase. so suggestions for...

MQCON ML7245 Clone – Programming cable?

I just posted a similar post to this tonight also, my socket wasn't fitted so I bought one and a plug and made a cable, I soldered it to one of my Arduino serial TTL converters that I program things with, it has Rx and TX lights that usually flash in sequence, connected to my controller the Rx...

    Sabvoton ML7260 controller

Hi, I have also bought what looks like a slightly different revision of te same controller, I notice you have a missing 4 pin connector and I have a missing 8 pin. I do think the signals from then are duplicated in the 30 pin connector, but i cannot find any wiring diagram for this 30 pin...

Reading data from my sabvoton controller

just found this thread its been an interesting read, when i get my controller in the bike i may have to play along, especially as i could do with a low power/speed mode on road.... problem i'm hitting is my controller (ml7260, ml60?) didnt come with a usb cable, the 8 pin mini din socket isnt...

Toasted Amped Bike geared motor ->now rewinding thread Pg. 2

new clutch wont stop the 123 above... if you can get the stator out and re-dip it in a 5gal bucket of varnish etc, but they are usually dipped in a vacuum on a good motor to get the air pockets out

Toasted Amped Bike geared motor ->now rewinding thread Pg. 2

I would not trust that motor. 1) insulation is burnt up so not holding wires firmly still 2) as you increase power the motor windings will jiggle about, flaking off more insulation 3) if we have not yet had a dead short or blown controller, goto 1 this is the spiral of death i predict for that...

I think i'm missing the point, thread title says making a cylindrical pack, but you seem to be constructing rectangular ones....

    The ultimate onboard charging solution

water gets *everywhere* if its raining well.. I had so much of it after 2 contrllers getting wet and blowing 3 times, I took the board and dipped it in hot candle wax... I then took the board and mounted it back in its case and then shut the controller end plates and top with sillicone, it...

DIY Programmable BMS (now using ATtiny/Arduino)

re the voltage difference jumper possibility, why a jumper, as you sayits large and costly also, just go for a pair of solder pads ppl can drop a blob of solder on... I just bought my first 4*4s packs, and i have one crappy b6, charging is a pain. I have spent a week trying out different...

B6 Lipro balance charger. Smoked it...

''I connected my 4s balance wires and the main +/- from the battery. Then gave the unit 12vdc (from the same 4s pack) and it powered up'' I think thats your problem, I think its created some form of loop

20kw continuous motor enough for small 2000lb 40-45mph car ?

that golden motor looks more like it would suit a motorcycle then a car. if your looking to cars, I'd suggest a look at the youtube vids of 'marionrickard' aka evtv.me he goes on an one and is a bit opinionated at times, but look at the kit he uses, it works.

    72v 1500W 40A Hua Tong CA08 XM06AD_P04.1 controller

emm, would like to do this mod, but to reduce current, and be switchable... Say drop it down to like a 200w max setting to (a) preserve batteries (limp home mode) and (b) not get busted for greater than 250w lol

    72v 1500W 40A Hua Tong CA08 XM06AD_P04.1 controller

Ahh I had not known where you had got it, I thought it was off ebay etc from one of the many suppliers of controllers. /needs to follow own advice... I just bought fets off ebay, although it does say 'genuine' and where £1.95 / $3.50 each so..... ('Real' suppliers here are £5 each/ $ 7 etc)

    72v 1500W 40A Hua Tong CA08 XM06AD_P04.1 controller

Have you opened this controller and seen what part number is on the mosfets, and what voltage caps its fitted with?

    72v 1500W 40A Hua Tong CA08 XM06AD_P04.1 controller

Yes I think it will, but like i said, its so small it can hardly be measured, and it will add up say over a few weeks, I use mine almost daily and have had no problems, the wife uses hers daily in the week and often leaves it all weekend, not yet seen an issue with batteries being flat etc...

    72v 1500W 40A Hua Tong CA08 XM06AD_P04.1 controller

both mine are powered 24/7, and i just use the ignition wire. do they drain the batter this way, yes, about like guessing 0.05% per night..... they only thing powered is the smoothing caps and the mosfets which leak so tiny amounts i cant measure it on my meter

    Detecting counterfeit 4110 mosfets

yeah I never thought of the tape, I have had it apart before use, I always expect QC to be non existent and so i strip everything i buy and bench test before use. I was 'happy' with the build on this, I just read about the bar issues and must say mine was sat nice to the case and had transfer...
