The Frey HT1000 - And yes, HT stands for Hardtail! *updated*

I've been racking my brains which model to purchase but in the end it's the hardtail. Since I mainly ride in the city it makes sense to go with the HT 29 incher. Now the other decision is which size, M, L, XL I found this sizing chart which displays each model by Frey, compare frame sizes with...

Newbie & wife trike build in need of direction

Trike sits in Florida all year round but we are there Dec to April. I plan to take the battery with me when I get down in Dec and take it back in April. I also use it in my Schwinn scooter during the summer here in Montreal. It would be a waste to keep there for 8 months sitting idle even though...

Newbie & wife trike build in need of direction

I am quite overwhelmed the amount of feedback. And a little confused which direction we should proceed. So many options. Which should we choose.

Newbie & wife trike build in need of direction

She's retired living is south Florida for the winter months. Last year I bought her Sun tricycle 26" front tire (non fat tire) with a 3 speed changer. Trike weighs 50 lbs and she is over 350. I also have a 36v 20ah lifepo I got as a gift. She needs to get to the stores 3-6 miles round trip...

    Schwinn ST1000 F***ed Brakes

Congrats of getting a super scooter. I have the same model as yours. I have upgraded to new discs front and rear, added new cables, grips, a large soft puffy saddle, added Kevlar liners inside the tires, have extra tires as they don't last, added a trip meter, and best of all added a lifepo4...

SLA Batteries, the Peukert Effect on 24v 12Ah

I can't understand what's with all this SLA talk, with all the time and monies spent you could have a Lifepo by now. Do what I did, modify the battery compartment to fit the larger size, add a front disc brake. It will extend your range and reliability ten fold. Also buy a decent 5 amp charger...

    Ezip 1000 mods

I have a Schwinn Stealth 1000, same as yours. I added a lifepo 36V 20ah in the same box below. I had to lower the battery box three inches to accommodate the added size. Added better discs and 5ah charger. She goes great, can run for 25 miles or 5 hrs on a charge. Best bang for the buck, check...

    Cheaper batteries than ping?

The sunthing charger is a 110v, we checked the fuse, it was ok and had power on to the ac line but didn't do the charge. The evassemble is the 240v. I have them at the office. Will photo both and post the pics tomorrow. thx

    Cheaper batteries than ping?

I purchased from sun-thing a few months back in June, a 36v20ah for $350-. Delivered in 25 days with a dead charger which he gave me a rebate. So I ordered one from Evassemble but he screwed up too and sent me a 220v, useless here in NA. I complained and he then sent me a 110V and arrived in a...

Which battery charger is worth buying?

I checked with my buds volt meter, the battery is good at 38 ?, the charger does work and reads 42v, but the charger plug from the battery has a short with no reading. I'll fix this first thing tomorrow. I ended up using a backup 3a charger, which took the better part of the day, about 8 hrs...

Which battery charger is worth buying?

I believe in buying quality all within reason, so $115 is a fair price. How long does it take to complete a charge with this 16a model? Do you think I can get it stateside instead of across the pond?

Which battery charger is worth buying?

So to get back to the first question, who makes a decent, as you call it, middle grade charger?

    Sunthing 36v20ah arrived with pics

I don't have a voltage reader yet will try to get one today. I'm currently using a 3a charger which I suspect will take at least 6-8 hours to charge.

    Sunthing 36v20ah arrived with pics

It lights up. There are two diodes, one red and one green. When plugged into dead battery it should read yellow and once charged it will turn green. But this does not happen, it stays green.

    Sunthing 36v20ah arrived with pics

It was well packaged with lots of bubble wrap. So far so good holds a decent charge. But I suspect my charger has crapped out. Shipped to Canada, he wrote on customs label, bike parts and I didn't have to pay any GST or duties.

Which battery charger is worth buying?

I have a 36V 20A LiFePO4 setup from Sunthing and so far so good. The 5a battery charger crapped out on me and is not working (cheapo). I have a 3a but will take forever to charge. Need to buy a more reliable model but who makes one at a fair price.

Lowest cost build bike for the money

I think he wants to spend about 750- but not much more. A range of 25-30 miles, mainly flat area, speed is not a major factor, also wants to be able to ride in the rain. From what we have seen, one can put together a bike at a fairly decent price, as there are deals out there and prices are...
