Disadvantages of front wheel drive for ebike?

lol I remember this post when I was researching my fwd conversion. The only bad thing after 4 years with it is nothing to do with fwd itself but the lack of torque sensor and too much power. On flats I end up pedalling like flinstone because gearing isn't enough to keep up with motor, but on...

TSDZ2 OSF - Motor works fine with throttle, and torque sensor works if I use throttle then pedal, but not sensing initial torque.

I'm wondering if anyone might have a clue about this. So I have an OSF TSDZ2 motor that has been nearly fully replaced due to burning out one fateful summer (new bare motor, new controller). So the motor works fine with throttle. However, the motor will not engage from pedaling, unless I first...

Anyone know about/tried TOSEVEN Mid Drive?

Gonna hard disagree with you on that. I've installed multiple and they've all worked fine out of the box. Wear and tear are usually the problem, like burning out the motor, torque sensor, blue gear etc. but the benefit of buying these is they are cheap and really you could just replace it every...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hey y'all it's been a while. I'm wanting to reload the firmware on one of my SW102 displays but I'm having trouble finding the repos or even remembering what I used to update the firmware. I used an android app to do it over bluetooth but I'm not seeing anything on the original open source...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hey all having a weird problem with my motor. The bike's power cuts out after a few seconds if I connect the speed sensor. The LCD screen stays on (SW102) but nothing registers and there's 0 power. If I disconnect the speed sensor it works, but the torque doesn't pick up properly (like the...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I'm not entirely sure what you mean or why you'd want that soldering nightmare on your hands, but it'd be pretty easy to remove the cables from the potting (the ones with connectors). The potting is like jello basically.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi guys I finally got around to installing the temperature sensor and thermal mod to this motor after completely frying the stator (it turned to charcoal LOL). PROBLEM: The temperature sensor works fine when the bike is not in use. It shows the correct room temperature. However, when I press...

Any of you use T12 tips for soldering connectors? Which tips do you use?

I bought a fancy soldering station but the tips that came with it are garbage for soldering things like MT60's or XT60's etc. Maybe something like a C4 or D4 tip would be better?

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Do you mean better to leave field weakening on, or disable it? I like to spin up hills but it does seem that my battery is being used up quicker. Really the thing that matters most to any ebike system is going to be the hills and how well you can climb them on your own. With a decent load you...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

It's not that it isn't stable when in use, it's that the menu freezes every few mins and you have to do a hard reset. If you are making any changes, exit to the main screen every time. Otherwise, when you make a change and it freezes and you reset the data isn't saved. I discovered that the hard...

I'm writing new forum software for us and others - any experienced php coders here?

I'd like to help, but I am having trouble understanding what you are asking, I guess you are sort of using the thread as a brainstorm, but I think the concepts are a bit too abstract. Another thing is, aren't there open source forums that one could code on to their liking? Why build from...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Update! Whoo hoo fixed the issues with our bikes! I realised I was somehow using the 1.0.0b version of the firmware. No idea how that happened. I installed the 1.0.0 and along with HughF's settings, it's all good again. And yes I can confirm, to get the startup boost, the boost has to be set to...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Oh interesting, I thought I was nuts in that I could not get startup boost to work, but that would explain it. For the record we had these issues when the bikes were set to torque. I only tried power later. I just attempted to calibrate the torque sensor with a luggage scale but that did not go...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi, is this supposed to be startup BOOST enable? Otherwise what is the point of the other startup BOOST settings? I am giving these settings a go now along with calibration, after exhausting all other settings and possibilities. Unfortunately it's definitely not the brake. I have now tried...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Oh my God, if that's really what it is I'm gonna scream at a tree. Yes, when I did the SW102 conversions, I added brake sensors to both bikes. That would explain it for sure if that's the case. The reason I assumed it was the SW102 firmware is previously we used the same bikes with KT-LCD3 and...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Does anyone here use their TSDZ2 for real mountain biking? With the new firmware I am having a problem where the motor cuts out when you need it most. Like for instance I was doing an uphill switchback, and right on the power stroke on the corner the motor doesn't engage and I fell over down the...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Yes, exactly, it is very strange, when did this change and why? I am going to give it another go today and see but this is basically the opposite of what I would think should be happening. Could it be a bug? I didn't want to bug report till I was sure it was or not. I'm not sure why I would...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Oh, ok, that is weird, why did casainho change this? It was great before. All my TSDZ2 bikes are torque scenarios because I use a recumbent and climb a lot of hills and mountain bike. The TSDZ2 is really an EMTB motor anyway in my opinion, that should be the main consideration. It's not an...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I think 0.19 to 0.20 to 0.57.2 now 1.0. Why would that matter? I did forget to mention I am using SW102's.

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi, I just installed 1.0.0 alpha 5 on my bikes. During a test ride it seems the motor is cutting out all power when you drop under a certain cadence. My husband's bike has a 42 tooth ring so he really noticed it on the steep hills and was struggling to keep moving at points. I can't see anything...

    TSDZ2, blew the blue gear....

Not really sure why you chose a TSDZ2 to do hardcore riding on elk trails. I would think there are better options. You would be better off with a frame that has a motor mount if you are an aggressive rider, or a hub motor perhaps.

Bafang BBSHD BBS02 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

    1) I don't know if that is true, I just saw fatbike versions on Aliexpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32749908969.html 2) Every time I have seen that happen it is user error from people installing it incorrectly. They allow their frame to press against the motor case which, over time and...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

There seems to be only one motor firmware? Nothing has changed since August 2019. I just did a new install and there is no mention of firmware matching the 0.8.0 version for the SW102. For the record I am having the same problem (see post above). Edit: Ok yesterday the wiki seemed to be linking...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

New SW102 Firmware: Hey guys, I'd like to but I can't find this in the masses of information. I just updated my SW102's to the latest firmware via bluetooth. Now neither motors work. I went through the settings and I don't see anything I am missing. They just don't engage and the speed sensor...
