Hello,
I'm trying to program my 850c display with V20.1c.4 to match my motor that I just got done flashing.
I followed the instructions on the eco-cycles site but it's not working for me. I made my own adapter and wired it according to the pictures.
Is the attached diagram correct, TX to RX and RX to TX? I'm powering the display with a 36v battery and it powers up but won't take the program.

"850C Displays are no longer recommended as changes in hardware often cause failure of OSF loading and 'brick' the display."

Try swapping the RX and TX lines just in case they are the wrong way around.

I tried that several times. No matter what I do, it hangs on "waiting" indefinitely and the TX continues to count up while the RX stays at 0 counts (I have no idea what either of those values mean)

Did you restart the display when you swapped the wires?

The way the bootloader works is it checks if it’s connected for an update on power up, then passes control to the main program. Once control has been passed over doesn’t matter what you change the update app will just stay there ticking.

Yeah I did. Tried it several times, with RX and TX wires swapped and restarting the program, and restarting the display. Dave over at eco-cycles said they will program it for me free of charge!
