Choosing a spot welder

Hi,

I want to buy a spot welder for building packs. Is there any hints and tips for what to look out for when choosing a spot welder ?

Ive been looking a this one. Looks like it will do the Job?

search the threads here on the cheap spot welders.
i've never used them (built my own) but others have with varying success.
main issues seem to be
line voltage: the 240v versions work better than the 120v's ( not sure what you r supply is)
the triacs inside blow either soon or later
some can not weld .15mm nickel (the minimum requirement) and,most if not all, ant do anything thicker (like ,2mm). none will do copper

but some people have used them with good results
research a little before you jump in and buy. sending it back will not be worth the postage cause they're so heavy

Thanks for the advice .. :D yeah this is lists up to 2mm and Ill be using it with 240v .. ill keep looking into it and post what ive choosen
 
|Just figured out its a good idea to have the external prongs for reaching in on bigger packs
