Or does it kick in when I let of the throttle?

I have same controller but the 80amp Version.

Yes the region starts when you let off the throttle. To engage the E break, Connect a momentary switch to the break cut off or just use break cut off switch on the brake levers.

can I pick your brain? I have a sabvoton 7280 and I want to make sure my idea is correct. I want to connect my stock brake levers to this controller, I just need to connect these right?

I have a stock brake lever from and Ariel rider and I would like to use it for brake cutoff. According to my research this is the solution.

The brake lever is 2 wire as well. maybe smaller gauge.

If by the statements and images you mean that you'd connect the purple and black wire pair from the controller to the brake lever wires, that is probably the case. Polarity shouldn't matter.

As long as you are trying to set up fixed regen. I believe the Sabvoton controllers have two forms of regen, variable and on/off, the latter being a fixed value determined in the controller setup. The latter, as with many controllers, is activated via the brake lever.

Yes you’re on the right track. But with this controller the throttle is really responsive, you can adjust it where the second you let off the throttle it cuts the power so there’s really no need for break cut all levers with this controller. Even with the PAS is the same thing when you adjust the throttle, the pedal assist will cut out when your cadence/peddling stops. There’s really no overlap so the second you stop peddling the controller cuts off instantly.

I was going to do the same thing at first and glad didn’t hook up the brake connectors because it’s just extra wires and really don’t need it with sabvoton or other controllers were you can adjust the throttle.

Thank you very much. I will just use the stock everything for that. I was reading a diagram and thought the region only worked with the cutoff. Now that I know it can happen in the app I will do that. 100% coming through, thank you guys!
