Hi everybody 8 years later as a 13 year old I am returning to this thread my dad made because we have completely beefed up the kart although we need some help with the electronics. Also my wants for it are to be up to 45 MPH and have great acceleration. This is the list of upgrades we have done.
-made an entire new back that I welded up that extends further back with a 9 inch shock
-upgraded to live axle with 14T to 60T sprocket
-14.5 inch tires all around
-upgraded to lightning rods big block XL motor (12 Kw ) (4650 rpm max)( 62 rpm per volt)
-upgraded to adaptto max-e controller
-11.2 amp h 70 volt nominal lipo batteries
We got it running but our having the following problems
-Regen is configured but is not working
-Acceleration is extremely slow and is only drawing 10-20 amp and it cannot go up hills
-sometimes cuts out when accelerating and stops
- motor gets Extremely hot
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to configure lightning rods motor to the adaptto speed controller.
PS: We have not yet configured the gear ratio on the controller to determine the MPH. Anyone know how to do this?
