Has anyone seen an IS Brake Caliper?

I see adapters all the time from IS to IS.. though when i go to google IS calipers. it seems nothing comes up in the way of front or rear brake calipers..

Since i am having trouble with a mounting bracket hitting the outside of the rotor on the front electric wheel, I was curious to find out if there are such calipers around..I would find it funny buying an IS to IS mounting bracket just to find there are no IS mounted calipers ..

Cheers..

First of all, you need to adapt WHAT exactly? Are you trying to put a bigger rotor on?

Short arm IS caliper = 160mm front / 140mm rear.
Long arm IS caliper = 180mm front / 160mm rear.

Poster QMS is with a company that makes adapters.

IS is a very hard word to search for. Calipher is comon, everything will come up. It takes a flair (AHEM) to find anything in that situation. Just this post on this board, for example, the ES search didn't return it. Nor this one. Another to discuss it with:

Kiwi built his own awhile back.

Whatever came of MattyCiii and his search for a Gustav M Calipher Holder? Is it off the market?

Thanks for all the links.. I was trying to fit 203mm rotors to front fork IS mount, the problem i came across was the adaptor would hit and rub against the rotor because of the width of the hub.

So it got me to thinking. Well i can not use a IS to post bracket and I only just bought a pair of TRP Spyre mechanical post mount calipers.. though i am starting to find some thinner calipers on the market.. will check those links out too..

I am looking at 203mm for front and back if possible.. though will go smaller for the rear IS mount if need be since it is a Yuba Mundo bike..

Cheers and thanks for the reply..

In your case, you need to put a spacer between the disc and the hub to give the caliper clearance. Some calipers have a smaller inner portion, making installs easier and requiring less added space. (Avid BB7 for example)

I was thinking of the BB7 and seriously was going to get them then saw the TRP spyres and got them instead.
The problem with adding washers/spacers to the side of the wheel is that it stretches the fork out to one side making the wheel and mudguard misaligned.
I have 4 1/2 inch wide Cromo8 forks so do not understand why the bracket rubs against he rotor. i only need less than half of 1/2 an inch to fit them, though doing that is to much...so was thinking 5 inch wide triple tree forks instead maybe? if they exist.

Ps, I almost forgot.. I was thinking a set of forks with a post mount bracket instead would be easier.. though finding it difficult to find triple trees with a PM.

Can you post a picture of the situation so we can be a little clearer?

I can try though it is just the mounting bracket on th IS forks hitting against the outside of the 203mm rotor. just the bracket..

Similar to this problem except front forks .. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60646&p=917642&hilit=IS+brake+Caliper#p917642
