Hello all,

Hi have a Kelly KBS48101X controller without cycle analyst plug, and a CA v2.3 with the 6pin plug..

Does someone know if I can directly solder a 6pin plug into this controller ?

It's easier and cleaner than solder a shunt between battery and controller..

Thank you !!

THere are a number of threads discussing how to add a CA plug to a controller; it's also in documentation for the CA itself on the grin site.

But basically, you would normally open the controller up and locate where the various signals go inside the controller, and solder in the wires to the connector.

But if you don't want to do anything except monitor the power usage, you can just buy the CA external shunt from grin tech, and wire it in series with your battery to the controller. You can also add an external speed sensor (also available from grin), so you don't have to wire up to the motor hall sensor wire.

If you want to still control throttle or brake on the kelly, and/or prefer to monitor the motor hall wire for speed, you could tap into the wires for those before they go into the controller, so you don['t have to open it up, and just use that external shunt for the power monitoring.
