'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

For my purposes the cassette is actually worse. Threaded track cogs are much easier.
Noted on the efficiency though.

Costs are still not that far off the Lightest.

Some resellers have them listed on aliexpress under varying model names and not so accurate descriptions..

Haha, yeah, the usual aliexpress description. That is the rear model, though. I would need the front model to be able to bolt it right in. I will dig around a little myself, but if you happen to stumble across a front model I would appreciate it if you let me know :) If not I think I will just get another QS 75sx. I can run it around 400w continiously with ATF, and is totally silent, so I like it. But if there is something better on the market I would definately not mind trying it on my second bike.

I have looked over the entire shengyi line on their webpage and sent them several emails.
Their front motors tend to have more options than the rear.

If you try a front motor, i'd like to hear about your experience. There's very little experience on this forum with these motors. In fact i have not seen really any threads about the larger and very potentially very under-rated 500w hub yet.

are your referring to the DGW22F? is that the motor grin calls the sx1?

Do you mean this one in the same Ali-shop?:

I might have been a little confused about model names. Im looking for the smaller version, DWG12M on their site. It is only 100mm in diameter when the spoke flanges are machined off. Maybe this one would work too... I will look closer when I start with the bike, for now I have a couple other projects going. Thanks for the tip anyway!

Just wondering if there have been any updates with this project and expected release schedules etc...?

Just found updates here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lightest-ebike-kit-your-bike-with-superpowers#/updates/all

This is an interesting unit.

Hmm do I fix my TSD2Z that I've had for several years now...or get a new drive and build a new frame.

Has their been any pictures of the internals posted?

I'm currently bouncing emails back and forth to determine:

1) what size bottom bracket does it fit on..
2) what happens when i apply 51v nominal ( 14S )
3) does the USA 1000W version have a speed limiter ( the answer appears to be no )

I want to know, too. I'm ready to order one of the first drives.

Okay i bit the bullet.
Expect to pay $865.73 USD shipped, per the current rate. The shipping itself was an eye watering 149 euro.

As for the answers i got..
It appears to fit a 68mm BB, but a 73mm BB is available. I didn't ask about 100mm.
The USA model does not have a speed limiter. I think i might see 35mph on my semi recumbent with this kit, so that's good.
>48v requires programming of the controller. They offered to do it for 90 euro. I will try to program it later if needed.

That is a grotesque cost for shipping. I think I'm going to pass on that until I hear of favorable reviews even though I really like the concept.

Have you seen the TSDZ2 thread here on E-S?: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=79788&start=8275
And the Github info:https://github.com/OpenSourceEBike/TSDZ2_wiki/wiki/FAQ
Open source firmware:https://github.com/OpenSourceEBike/TSDZ2_wiki/wiki

Yes the info here on E-S is why I bought the the TSD2Z originally. I am on my third torque sensor and the bb bearings are shot. I like that this Lightest unit allows me to use regular bb bearings and that it doesn't rely on a bb torque sensor. I am considering building a new frame around this unit. With a custom cradle I can tuck it up similar to the Bosch / Shimano style units and access the bottom of the downtube to stash the battery inside the downtube.

They replied to my email that they are now shipping units in August so some time to decide.

Do you have to use the supplied crankset or can you use your own? I'd rather have the ISIS interface for mountain riding.

You will need a freewheel on the chainring, so if your ISIS cranks have this you'll be able to use them.

Installation Video: https://youtu.be/iLcN42IK4Uc

Is this a PAS only system? I see nothing (no freewheel) between the crank chainring and the pedals. Thus anytime the motor is running the chain, chainring and crank arms must rotate as well.

In the video, there is a freewheel between the crank arm and the chainring. You can see it moves when he puts the chain on. It looks like a threaded crank arm just like in the cyclone kits.
AH ... I see they provide their own crank arms and chain ring .... I missed that suttle little detail
Thank thee :)

I know with Covid it's been hard on the industry and all but it's a shame there are no real world reports of this system yet........

The observed trials world offers a variety of much higher quality freewheeling cranks in a range of lengths and bottom bracket types.

Are you surprised? Folks don't need a pandemic to fail to come through on their outlandish claims.
