Hello,

Has anyone ever replaced the freehub unit (where you mount the cassette) from a bafang g360.500 hub motor ? Mine turns out to be so wobbly that the chain keeps falling of the smallest sprocket. Replacing it with a better model would certainly help a lot.
I'm used to cheap freewheel cassettes screwed to the hub motor; this cassette stuff is rather new to me. Do all chinese hub motors use the same standart ? Where can I get a replacement part ?

Thank you for your help,

To me in your pic it looks like there are extra bolts on the cover near the freehub.

Maybe this will net you some useful info https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/help-finding-bafang-hub-replacement-parts.29522/

Otherwise I'd just say contact Bafang to see if they sell a better replacement.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen this thread - it actually help me narrow down the issue. Problem is that bafang has a notoriously bad communication history. They basically never reply.

I’m not sure if you can buy just the free hub part.
To prevent the chain from falling off the smallest gear you could try removing two links of the chain.

Have you tried removing the Free hub? You might be able to diagnose where the wobbling is coming from. I have no experience with bafang motors but it seems like it’s probably the backside of the free hub that connects to the side plate is not level. If you don’t have a lathe you could take it to a machine shop possibly.
