Hello,

I'd like help to choose my kit. Currently a Bionx Direct Drive kit owner, I'd like to up my game to 48v.
I live in a hilly city, and would like to go with a geared kit, but I know myself, and would probably trash the bike after my first ride.
I'm SURE geared are too noisy for me, even if I never heard one. Can you hear it sited on the bike ? If you do I don't think I want it.

I'm a pretty strong cyclist and used to a 36v DD limited to 750 watts. My budget is limited (1200$ for ebike kit + battery). I have a good donor bike (26" MTB) but will upgrade to a 29er in the near future, and would rather spend good money on one of cellman's battery and buy a cheaper DD kit.

Now, bmbattery website is a mess. Can you guys check this link and confirm it's indeed a DD kit ? One picture is the geared kit, and the second picture is the bare DD motor (I think). Also 370 RPM seems like a lot, I will be running this over 10-12 48v AH cellman batteries.

I'm a strong cyclist, and would like to assist 50/50 going at 35 km/h with peak of 40-42 km/h if possible.

Thanks! :D

I highly recommend the Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive Kit. For Hills, you can't beat it. Check out my build and read spinningmagnets article on electricbike.com.

My kit is darn near silent with power to spare.

Good luck.

Hi and thanks for the suggestion teslanv,
My concern with the BBS02, is the very high price asked by the US distributor, or the unkowns about max speed and wether or not throttle will be usable is the version bought from the random aliexpress shop.

Aside from that, it does seem like a good kit. Just not one I can afford a good battery with the kit + shipping.

I got to admit wesnewell, this is very darn cheap. Never heard about their "pro" line though. I thought golden motor was only about the magic pie.

Thanks for the link.

Since you are in Canada, you should at least take a peek at the Grin cyclery website.

And GM Canada would have a kit that meets your needs.

E-bikekit in the eastern USA has a very nice dd motor kit with some good features. I just tested one, and like the improvements to it a lot.

Hard to beat EM3ev, if you are going to order from China.

FWIW, when you feed about 1000w to a DD motor, it does make some noise. But cruising is mostly pretty silent.
