Recommendations for a rim

Any rims recommended? Can you recommend spokes and lacing pattern?

I don't care how much it weighs. I want an extremely heavy duty 26 inch 36 spoke hole, 25 mm wide BSD for a 55mm tire. MUST BE FOR RIM BRAKE! I WANT EXTRA long break life. This is a rear wheel

I want to pay less than $80 but am willing to splurge for true quality.

I'm just eyeballing measurements and going to just slap it together. Take a look at pictures and chart below.

Again... I only care about how long it's going to last and it need it be and to carry 50 lbs of cargo without failing. This will go on a cargo bike that might even carry a Passenger.

How about this one??

I like Sun Ringle rims because they have welded seams and spoke eyelets.
However the the Rhyno Lite is ONLY 22mm wide.
The Rhyno Lite XL is a bit better at 24 mm.
Take a look at the Estate which is 27mm.

OOPS ... My bad:
It seems the "Estate" rim is no longer available

Yeah getting those Ride andra ones seems impossible. I couldn't didn't find the right size DT SWISS

Is this legit or counterfiet?

How do I avoid buying counterfiet bike stuff?

I have bought stuff from 365 Cycles and never had a problem with them.

Ok I will buy that rim. I will then use the specs to input into a spoke calculator to buy spokes. I'm thinking sapim spokes

Shoot. Only with presta? I don't do presta. Wtf...

This one says SV

ANYBODY KNOW THE OFFSET??

11/32" drill turns any rim into a Schrader valve rim. As long as the rim is at least 25mm wide outside, there's no downside to drilling it for Schrader.

There's no significant offset in a Sun Rhyno Lite rim.

SE Bikes J24SG and Weinmann DM30 are both a tad beefier than Sun Rhyno Lite or Rhyno Lite XL.

That is exactly what I did on my Sun Ringle CR18s (followed by a deburring tool of course).

The SE Bikes J24SG look to be a little less expensive than the Rhinos as well.

Lew how about this

That one looks offset. Where can I find the specs?

It looks cheaper than rhino and Ive bought from modern bike before. I don't think they sent me a counterfeit but my tubus rack might've been bent by them or the shipper. Not even sure if it's just an optical illusion or something else is bent.

Sun Ringle MTX bicycle rims seem to hold up well from what I see on es.
They have different rim widths to suit your tires.

If laced properly, should hold up a long long time if your using the rim to its max, jumping, air time, cliffs, wooden tracked jumps like at ski hills in the summer, what I am saying is the really technical stuff, other then that if your just a pavement warrior like I am, then any good rim would do. From my personal experience, I would buy a double wall rim so the threaded spoke end has zero affect on the inner tube, and the rim tape is purely cosmetic with a bit of practicality. If your replacing a nip, and the nip falls into the rim, its easy to find. Happened to me plenty of time mate. I got shag-like carpet thats new school but has 0.5" of height, so finding a nipple in that requires lots of static built up on your hand combing the shag or a magnet. Crystalyte has a good rim I have used before, Grintech might still sell it, deep well of double wall rim but no rim eyelets where theres more material around the hole of the rim for the nips.

I was trying to find out what motor you have a 28mm or a 35mm. The width of magnets in the motor or power.

IDK. I need to overhaul it though. The motor wire is cracked and frayed where it exits the axle.

Is the motor stator magnets 28mm or 25mm as they have two different models ?
The easiest fix is pull the wires thru the axle and cut and repair on the inside of motor.

Use brass washers on the spokes head. Will save broken spokes. Is that motor 35mm magnets. ?

Idk... Do magnets have anything to do with it?

Not an expert, but did a lot of reading before lacing my wheel. Magnet width dictates the motor width, and therefore the spoke flange width. Spoke flange width is narrower than a regular bike hub. Some videos, like Grin's suggest using all spoke heads on the inside, elbows out, to increase the lateral strength of the wheel. If your motor is narrower, you might opt to lace in that method.

Yeah I took all those measurements just eyeballing with a tape measure. It's a 9C clone and yes it's a narrow motor.

Ok finding quality spokes is the tough part.anybody ever use this site? I'm worried about buying counterfeit spokes
