I have a pedego ford super cruiser. It's been a great bike, but the throttle crapped out on me. I opened it up and did a pin out. Blue and yellow wires go to the power switch, White is +5v to throttle, Black is negative on both the battery charge LEDs and the throttle, green is signal from throttle, and red is positive to battery LEDs. I was wanting to get a throttle with a key like https://www.amazon.com/YWNYT-Thrott...fix=6+wire+ebike+throttle+48v+,aps,156&sr=8-6 but it only has 5 wires and I'm not sure how i would wire it. I have been having trouble finding a throttle with a key that is 6 wires. any input on how to wire a 5 wire throttle with 6 wires coming from the controller would be great. I don't want to buy something that won't work right. I have found 6 wire throttles that i know would work, but they are push button and not keyed. https://www.amazon.com/Throttle-Lev...fix=6+wire+ebike+throttle+48v+,aps,156&sr=8-2 Any insight would be appreciated. Attached is a picture of the original throttle taken apart. Sorry for blurry photo.

I walked by a Pedego store in a mall a few weeks ago, give them a call and see if they have the throttle to ship to you.

I would measure the voltage between ground and blue wire, and ground and yellow wire from the controller. One of the two is likely battery voltage, since most controllers need battery voltage to go to the "ignition" connection on the controller to turn it on. If you detect battery voltage on one of the two, then the other is the key switch/ignition wire. The new 5-wire throttle likely shares the battery voltage that's already present for the voltage/battery readout to power on the ignition.

I ended up getting a different throttle that was six wire based on a part number i found inside the old throttle. I talked to the closest pedego store to me which is 80 miles away, and they were not the friendliest. They wouldn't let me order the part from them and insisted i take my bike in to them, which i'm not sure how they expected me to do that considering the ebike is my primary trasportation, and even if i hot wired the +5v to the negative with a resistor it would probably take more than one charge to get there, and they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for it. The replacement i got off amazon will be here thursday and only cost me $20. since i figured out the pinout from the old throttle, and the new one is labeled it will just be a simple six solders and some heat shrink tubing and i'll be good to go. Thank you for the info and if this new one breaks i'll get the five wire one with a key lock and figure it out based on what you guys told me.
