hey all.
I'm suffering a weird problem, with my set-up. I got to work, and then went to ride home, and the bike wouldn't go. there was no sparks no smells no rattling, nothing. The light on the controller was on, but it wouldn't move. There was no cogging, no nothing.

Rotating the wheel shows a voltage coming through on the cycle analyst. I replaced the controller and the throttle, but it does the same thing. Looks like there is an issue in the motor.

There was some rubbing on the phase wires, looks like one might have come through. I'd at least feel something if it was shorted and died right?

How do i test the motor? what should i look for? phase and hall sensors. I remember something about rotating the wheel and watching for resistance / voltage from the hall sensors? should they have a specific resistance?

I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find exactly what i was looking for...
Thanks in advance H.

You can start here: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=764&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=45

Try the rollback test.

If you are using the newer digital controller and you have a fault in the hall sensor, the controller will not run and you will get a fault code flashing on the LED.

You can test the hall sensors with a voltmeter. Measure the signal wires against battery neg. while slowly turning the motor. You should see the voltage toggle between near zero and something over 5v.

If the phase wires shorted, you'd have a nasty cogging and much resistance to turning.
