Using extra batteries that don't match battery cradle with integrated speed controller

I'm looking at getting a new setup and having a controller integrated into the battery casing. The problem is I want to be able to use my old batteries for longer range, or if I forget to charge, etc. I figure I'll probably be able to wire up a tail that comes out to connect to other batteries, but I was wondering if anyone out there might have had experience with this and came up with a good solution.
 
Yes, you'll be wanting to wire them in parallel. Best results if the BMSs are common charge/discharge circuit (common port BMS). Also similar chemistry.

Important: Batteries should be very close in voltage (I aim for within +- 0.1V) when connecting them to avoid large inrush current. Otherwise you have to fab up more complex wiring that includes diodes and possibly switches.
