What is VESC?

I searched in this web site, and in google. I found the VESC web site.

I find detailed docs on electronic circuits and coding systems. I don't find much of any statement in one place about what VESC is.

Can someone point me?

Well, the short version for the origin of the name VESC comes from Benjamin Vedder: "Vedder Electronic Speed Controller"
As to what VESC "IS"? I would say it is an open source motor control firmware with an open source user interface available on PC, Android, and IOS, with accompanying hardware designs ranging from commercial to diy.
