I just mounted my rear wheel with the torque arm inside the frame on one side, due to lots of wear on the softer aluminum dropout from the "narrow shouldered" axle.
That is the weak link of the BMC mounting surface, and needs to be addressed, with a very strong knurled washer to grip the inner...
CLyte motors are heavy.
You will be very surprised with the torque and hill ability of the geared 9lb. BMC 600 v2 at 36v ( or 48). IT does 24mph at 36v and takes off. That should be enough for most......and the range you get by keeping the battery weight and motor weight - and price - down...
I have a mounting method in the triangle I'm working on for my new Ping 36/15. It is just big enough.
My current Bosch torpedo balances the bike perfectly with my rear BMC. CLyte motor and battery on back is really not doing this bike justice.
It rides very well when you distribute the weight.

Right near me. My next project will be an ABS box in the triangle to hold the Ping 36v/15AH 2.5 battery and controller.
I'm psyched. American Plastics Corp. is 12 miles from me!!

I'm going to get some ABS sheet and try your method. They will even cut while you wait.
This is like what I have wished for recently. Can you make the CA switch between 2 “speeds†in the form of 2 AMP LIMIT settings? That seems like the best way to conserve power.
I love that I can limit amps when cruising the flats to about 13 amps to maximize range/battery life, but...
Great ideas here.
Just posted, with many pics.

Bosch "Torpedo" Fatpacks. Very easy to build. Modular packs.
No mention of birch ply for contours. You can get this very strong wood in thin sheets ( 1/8", 3/16"...
The charging is a bit funny.
I used 5.9 Ah / 15 miles with a few long hills and lots of pedaling on my first ride to 32.5 LV and still going but slow. Then came in for its first charge which I baby sat in the garage.
After about 45 min. the charger got warm, the fan and red light came on and...
Here they are, my patent pending DIY Torpedo Fatpacks: easily made in modules of 2,3 (mine is 18 "long) or 4 (24").
Dis assembly of the packs is so easy with a power screwdriver and a torx bit. No cutting of the plastic packs is needed. Careful to tape the wire ends so as not to touch...
