    Found adjustable CCCV charger

I have had one of these too for some months and have used the voltage adjustment to optimize the volts for my pack depending on the need. Only today found this post, so: The middle adjustment you say is charge current ? And the third is for ?

    2 speed shifting tranny

Interesting idea. I have fixed some motorcycle trannies and those are really heavy duty stuff to be able to manage up to a few hudred of horsepower. I dont know how you planned to organize the shifters to move the gears. Somekind onf shifter drum like in the original gearbox ? If this is the...

Keywin E-bike Lab Parameter Designer Software Manual-ver 1.2

The three mode speed setting in pedelec seems to work only up to 100%. if 120% is used, then the throttle must be used for increasing the speed for over 100% area. I like the pedelec mode so that its max 100% that i can get by pedalling, but 120% with a push a button eg when doing a steep...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

Thx, my chinese interface does not have a flash button as its referred in the text. I assume the usb is providing +5v and gnd in addition to tx/rx, so there may even be room for one additional wire for reset ?

Best 250W HUB motor (small, light & freewheeling)

I only have experience of two geared hub motors, but is there really difference in frewwheeling ability ? The basic design is the same meaning that there is three reduction gears bringing about the same loss. No significant differences between different bearings. Am I missing something in the...

XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

Very good info, thanks for sharing it !!! I am just wondering about two things: 1) hows the speed 1,2,3 settings. Did not get that formula from the spec ? 2) hows the checksum exactly calculated ? Sum of elements negated ? Been hacking several engine management protocols in past, therefore...

    Two-Speed Regen

Noticed that you had used 115% as maximum setting. When I try to set anything above 100% all the values in the configuration file are not anymore updated and are ignored from user interface. Does the values over 100% really work regardless of the above ?

    hydraulic brakes and regen ?

Added EB to GND but no wiring to EBS pins yet. Tested today and it feels like having the mode switch in a lower setting (33%) when doing downhill there is more "enginebraking". With mode switch at 100% there is virtually no enginebraking. My wattsup is in a position where its difficult to read...

    Two-Speed Regen

Great info, thanks for this- did not know that you can use regen in passive mode without excessive drag. Need to test this and check the effect to average speed on my ordinary route.

    hydraulic brakes and regen ?

Yes, youre absolutely right - left lever takes power off completely with a moroncycle ;), also usually i swap the levers so to that right lever is always front brske. Been thinking of replacing the rear brake with regen to the left lever- but i need the rear brake to keep the bike still at...

    hydraulic brakes and regen ?

Yep, been thinking the same- adding a push button. Anyhow it does not feel right as an active motorcyclist my emergency procedure is to use the brake levers - and the engine is not shut off when depressing the brake lever. There must be a better way... ?

    hydraulic brakes and regen ?

Would like to make regen to work, or even more importantly cut the power off when brake lever is depressed. So far have not been able to find a hydraulic bicycle brake lever that would have a switch implemented. One though occured is to put a pressure switch to the hyrdaulic line - but I am a...

    Ebike efficiency ?

Last trip according to gps and watts up 2.1ah, ~40min, 14.5km average speed 21km/h, top speed 37km/h. Peak 24Ap. Averag hr most of the time 110-130, i.e. 60% on that range so not so heavy. Its a 10ah battery, so lools like i could get some 50-60 km out of it down to 20% level. Bike is fairly...

    Ebike efficiency ?

Thx, picked up tire pressure and inert mass and frontal area. On my other hobby i try to save grams for better accelearation and speed. Tires are already changed to less rolling resistance ones ( according to sales pitch ) and pumped to overpressure. Sounds like the most efficient method...

    Ebike efficiency ?

I hope the author meant 75% efficiency not loss... So what are the biggest loss generaring components that can be affected ? My battery switch gets warm, so must be one potential area as heat means loss. Also fets in controller are still original. But thats it as much as i can figure out of...

    Ebike efficiency ?

Looked at the ebikes.ca and that does not seem to include planetary gear loss into the equation. Additionally the choises are far from what I have in the bike, as product names. Motor efficiency seems to be minimum 80 up to 95 depending on sources Planetary gear efficiency seems to be around 95...

    Ebike efficiency ?

Our dyno has a 450kg drum and eddy currrent brake. In practise the load from dyno is too big to have more than around 0.5hp tolerance, which may be as much as this motor gives out. Thanks for the ebikes.ca hint.

Wich controller for 250w pedelec / 1000w throttle?

I choose infenion for the switchability. Really like the pedelec over throttle on a full suspension mtb. This summer wil show if the reliability is there. The question i have if the 250w EU limit is in to the controller, in to the motor or out of the wheel ? My 250w motor takes in to the...

    Ebike efficiency ?

My watts up shows 850w in to the controller, just trying to figure out how much power to the wheel to estimate comparable kilowatts/horsepower number ? Infenion Controller efficiency ? Bafang hub motor efficiency ? Bagang internal gear loss ? Wiring loss from controller to motor ? Maybe e.g...

Installing pas sensor on sprocket side...

yes, i thought there is no difference either and its only because my wheel is somewhat uneven - until saw a signal from a motorcycle cam sensor that had been installed 180degrees of. During these 2 months I have tried several pas sensors, magnets with reversed polarity for some magnets on the...

Installing pas sensor on sprocket side...

Would guess that most readers here are less interested about pas, but its my preference for two reasons: 1) local eu laws reques using one 2) it gives a smooth response to pedalling in terrain Now to the point that thought to be worth of sharing... During last 2 months i have been struggling...

    Bent bafang rear axle ?

OK - thanks. I did initially misthreaded the freewheel sprocket set when installing - so sounds like I need a new motor, repairing the threading is not really possible. Did a testride today, the intermittent "crunching" sound from the motor was indeed a loose connector as today the bike was...

    Bent bafang rear axle ?

Finally got the bike running and made a short trip (8km) in -15C weather. On the way back noticed that there was a problem to start the motor on the way back and keep it running. Got a really bad noise, almost like brakeing a gear - but believe that this was due to a loose motor phase wire...

KU61 controller from BMSBattery - some info and a question

Just realized how the little frog batteryholder has just a good place for the controller. Very well kept "secret", as I really was wondering where to hide the controller.
