    Electric Surf Board

FYI anyone have any thoughts on the pumps from the following supplier, they also have a 55mm and 80mm setup. Not so sure about the impellers. I am just hoping there are options to get metal impellers...

    60V E 300 Hub Motor Project Underway

Unlikely to be the throttle, can check by putting a multi meter on the signal wire and ground for the throttle you should have a voltage that changes from about 1-4V over its full travel. If its a smooth change from 0-100%, not the throttle. Most likely issue is just a cheaper controller and...

Large drone motor for go kart

Kelly controllers KLS range would be good assuming they can match the high E-rpm of the motors if you want them quiet. Otherwise the KHB range would be better for price, will have a loud whine to the motor usually. Seriously tho, that price is frocked. Try...

    Offset hub alloy wheels

Best thing I can suggest is find a car wreckers and get yourself some of the aluminium space saver wheels from a Mercedes or some European hot hatch car. 16-18" are available in about 3" wide or less. Most single side swing arm setups for motorbikes are even bigger then that at 5". I am also...

GM motor/controller, constant "stalling" and stuttering

Well hopefully you do get it sorted with just wiring issue as been the problem. It kinda does sound like that if you are having issues even when coasting down a hill etc. Yeah with the controllers it would be nice if they would hold a history of faults so you could actually track what was...

GM motor/controller, constant "stalling" and stuttering

Rayhaque, You may want to post more details as to where you are. Might help if someone local can come have a look, another set of eyes always sees something different. Saying that I have been playing with GM controllers to, from VEC200 all the way to VEC700 to test them out. And long story...

    Sabvoton Overclocking

Should be as simple as open up the controller fine the 2 phase wires that go thru the hall sensors to read the current big square things, prob blue. Cut the wires before the sensors, grab 2x 8awg wires and solder them to the original single 8awg wire, feed one thru the sensor and then use the...

    EV sonic 7 kit car

Its not that bad to get things done in Australia, just got to read all the paper work and find a really cluey engineer. I got a electric hayabusa passed by the Queensland transport group on the first go. Just sounds like your engineer let you down, 4 point harnesses are not deemed road usable...

Yay the controller is progressing :) Chris I am very happy you understand all this. Hopefully soon you will be able to get it all running and tested :) Derek

Are the ADAPTTO kit $$$ as people think....?

well documented in regards to the adaptto is only for fairly standard hub motors. Go for anything high speed like a mid drive etc or something abit different and its alot harder to setup and get right. Adaptto is going to have a bit of competition with recent controllers coming out with...

Ultra lightweight CV Joint Axles and low RPM Motors

more as a link for a supplier for usable parts in the project he is doing. 500rpm is probably more the at the wheel speed so there could easily be many stages of reduction or even a single large stage using 219 chain as a example would be very easy. Probably one of the easiest in this power...

    Golden motor 48v HPM3000B problem

do which ever is easier for you to disconnect and then reconnect :) I did halls because i always remove and solder the connections so i can just twist them for testing then solder later. Its just a bit odd that the controllers don't have proper color coding with the motors they sell. Good...

    Golden motor 48v HPM3000B problem

Sounds normal to me :) yes try changing the yellow and green hall wire connections first. If that fails try the other 4 hall combinations. 1 should work perfect but may go in the wrong direction tho.

    Golden motor 48v HPM3000B problem

to be honest i have had a few of these motors and the actual wiring between phases and halls does not match on most of them. So please do go through and check the different hall connections, pretty sure i had to swap green and yellow on about 2 motors out of 4. Also in regards to turning the...

    Solar-Electric Beetle project on crowdfunding

Sine wave controllers are a pretty good idea only if you can get one with great regen settings. Adaptto is one but its also very under used as you would want to be charging the car while driving if its sunny out. I would use John from CRs hub motor 93% efficient, the mid sized one, 2x adaptto...

    500KG 4WD agricultural vehicle

Vertical colums for the wheels? Makes life pretty simple, get 4 mid monsters from John, mount them above the wheels, gear them down to your wheel size and speed requirements and done. Make it a nice simple chain connection thats easily repairable and cheap, use a pair of cheap controllers that...

    how install a bms 72v 20s

most of the ones i use the C- is for the charger, b- is to the battery negative, and the p- is for the power(controller) negative.

Bicycle Frames suitable for eBike conversion?

Something that looks like a bicycle :) Do you want suspension? If so the above is good ideas for suspension bikes otherwise I personally use alot of older cruiser or chopper frames and change out the front forks for cheap pitbike forks so i can use strong brakes without issue. Fyi if you get...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

For everyone's info, if your experiencing speed limiting on high speed motors you will find that pwr timing has a large effect on the top speed too. Just make sure you calculate your actual e-rpm so you dont get too close to the max.

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Willow, I am guessing the controller still lights up and everything. From the main screen go to the side until you get to the screen with the hall diagnostics on it. Slowly spin the wheel and hopefully its a simple issue with one of the halls been dead should get all the 1 to cycle through :)...

velomobile suspension, advice needed. Build thread

A bit of a wierd one but what about a FTC trike with the lean controlled for the most part by the steering? Have the lower suspension arms with a flex join on the under side of the frame. With the upper arm do similar with a flex point at the top of the frame. For suspension using the "ski"...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Finally managed to tune my controller to run the high speed cromotor properly. Tuning it at the slow 15km/h for angle corr did not work for me, what i ended up having to do once i had a basic good tune is run the motor up at the speed where it starts to oscillate and then adjust the ang corr...

Outrunner motor to tire friction drive increaser?

Simplest that comes to mind is sand paper glued on to the shell, works really well but if you dont set it up right you will end up with very worn out tires. How is your friction drive setup? Does it pull itself into the tire the more power you apply, ie on a slide mount or a pivot mount?
