New York State Senate Bill S1357 (Definition of ebike)

Thanks for posting this and thank you for your concern for this. We too have been working real hard on trying to get legislation passed. Last year we were in Albany giving test rides to legislators and they were very supportive. There wasn't enough support last year though and the bill died...

    Eurobike 2014 thread

I'll be going for my first time this year. I'm arriving on the 23rd and coming back on the 30th. Let me know if you guys want me to check anything out for you while I'm there. It looks like the 2014 exhibitor list isn't up yet though.

    Haibike XDURO AMT Pro

Great to see some Haibike love on here! I've been evangelizing their brand since I first rode one last year at Interbike. The quality and refinement of the drive and the bikes is beyond anything else in the market. Definitely share some pics and video!

    Anyone going to Eurobike?

Just reaching out to see if anyone plans to go to Eurobike? I'm probably going on my own and just wanted to see if any other Ebike enthusiasts are interested in sharing a space for a week. I have a potential apartment I can rent at a very reasonable rate. PM me if anyone's interested.

    waterproofing connections

I'm thinking about picking up some of these Sure Seal Connectors. They seem like they will do the trick pretty well, anyone have any experience with them?

Best Option for Pedalec on Edgerunner

We just put a BBS02 on a Big Dummy for the shop which seems to fit rather well. Could be something to consider. Falco is also working with Xtracycle on a motor option for the Edgerunner and their torque sensor is contained in the motor so it solves the issues with fitting a cadence sensor.

Cyclone 1 chainwheel kit (1680w)...anyone use them?

I have been experimenting with the 5KW 3 chainwheel kit on a Fat Bike and it's really quite. I should be posting some Videos up here soon, it's just been wicked cold here lately. It certainly seems GNG is favored on ES, but I wouldn't totally rule out Cyclone. It's a little overkill for most...

    Feedback/suggestions on ebike build

OP Welcome to the forum. I have been working with Falco for a couple of months now and it's a great system. It's certainly more expensive than kits on eBay and the like, but IMO totally worth the price. I have been testing a Surly Long Haul Disc Trucker 700c w/ a torque sensored 500w Falco Motor...

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Focus Bikes uses this system, I just recently came across it myself. I was quite impressed with that when I saw it. That with a Nuvinci Harmony and you can have a super smooth system. By the way the Harmony is only available to OEM's, but they might open it up to some dealers. I really hope they do.

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Kepler - I'm all for this system, looks excellent! I would definitely buy a couple and I imagine it would be something we can support going forward. We set these up on a couple of bikes thus far and we have been very happy with the results, it would be nice to have a clean solution for FS bikes...

No assist on BH neo extrem

I had a similar issue on a Easy Motion Neo 29er when the torque sensor wire was severed. After receiving several replacements from BH North America we ended up having to swap the controller. It seems there are different models of the TMM sensor and they don't all work with the same controllers...

    ebike insurance

Most renters and home owners insurance will cover you, although it's recommended to call them to confirm what they will and will not cover. They generally have a deductible, but that could be covered by Kryptonite if you purchase the proper lock for your are and register your bike with them...

Bionx install. A good shop for it in central NJ?

I'm not in NJ, but I'm fairly close (Long Island). I'd be happy to assist you if you don't find someone closer to you we sell and install Bionx and several other conversion systems, including Falco, which could be of interest to you http://www.falcoemotors.com/, they have a similar offering...

    BH Eco Wave comparison question

It might make sense to contact the Australia distributor http://bhbikes.com.au/ in my experience they are pretty good with their warranty support here in the US. The Neo models here have a 5 year warranty on everything aside from the battery, which has a 2 year warranty. I don't have too much...

    Falco e-Motors

@dominator It is possible to run two motors, as I have already been speaking to Rakesh about running a similar setup. You can run one display and one throttle. We are still getting used to work with these systems, but we feel they're pretty awesome. I'm currently doing some testing with the a...

    Pedego City Commuter review

Thanks. Lindenhurst is a great town. It's unfortunate how hard it got hit from Sandy. Did you bump the speed limit up to 25 yet?

    Stromer St1 30mph review

@izeman I believe the Magura ebrakes are only available to manufacturers. I've made serveral attempts to reach out to them with no avail. I'll let you know if I make any progress.

    Lampociclo classic ebike

I'm with you on the Lorem Ipsum :D . I think they should have held off on the press release until they finished the website. Not really a good sign if you ask me.

    Stromer St1 30mph review

RoadWrinkle thanks for posting that. I was about to post the same about the throttle not being available. I also had similar sentiments towards non-throttle bikes but after riding the Stromer my opinion changed. It's especially beneficial here in NY where we need to fly under the radar due to...

    Neo Cross and Neo City

Thanks for documenting your experiences and I admire the miles you guys have been putting in. Regarding the brake squeal you might have to clean up the pads and rim and make sure there's no aluminum in the pads as that can cause an awful squeal. The contact point on the rim could need a light...

    BH Emotion Neo Xtrem

It looks like that trail is pretty rough. I admire you for attempting it. Regarding the water bottle holder I generally recommend one that attaches behind the seat. I'll definitely pass the suggestions on to BH though. I'm not sure if you purchased the bike locally, if so I'd maybe ask them to...

    BH Emotion Neo Xtrem

Great to see these bikes getting some good trail use. The battery removal difficulty is fairly common, I too feel a recess could be beneficial. I'll pass that on the Easy Motion team, they probably left it out to keep the lines clean.

Outlaw SS? Stromer ST1? What to get?

@Chalega I've ridden many bikes electric and non-electric in Manhattan and I have tested most of the bike you are mentioning in your post being I am a dealer of Prodeco, Stromer and Easy Motion. I have compiled some brief notes below but feel free to let me know if I can elaborate on anything...
