I'm currently downloading the four mp3 files linked to by AW, but it's literally at a few Kb/sec. I'll upload a link to them as soon as I can.

    PAS not working? EDIT: SOLVED!

Have you tried making changes to P13 as described in the user guide for your LCD display? Also, have you confirmed that the wire functions match either side of the connection?

Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

You've misunderstood UK pedelec law. There is no limit on output power, just rated motor power. Your Leaf motor will never be UK legal. The following post is the most comprehensive on the subject that I know of: https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/pedelec-law-the-details.37594/

I didn't know ES had a spell checker. Are you sure you're not referring to your web browser's native spell checker?

Relay for up to 100V DC?

On eBay, "as is" is a fair declaration if the condition is specified as 'faulty or suitable for spares'. 'New' or 'used' condition means that the item must be "fully functional". EBay policy states that buyers are not covered by the 'money back guarantee' for 'not as described' cases where the...

Why more KV = more power, the Maximum Power Transfer Theorem

I must be missing the point you are trying to make. You don't need any specific winding to achieve what you have described. You could use a higher kV winding with a proportionally lower voltage and higher current. You'd end up with the same torque, the same top speed and the same efficiency. A...

Why more KV = more power, the Maximum Power Transfer Theorem

Hello. Me again. I know I said I didn't want to get involved in a discussion about motor kV, but at this very moment I have a few minutes to spare. My knowledge is nowhere near as complete as some other members who have already contributed to such threads, but I think I can help fill in the...

type 2 connector for an ebike??

Doesn't your type 2 to mains adapter have a manual release switch? I can't say I've ever seen one without one. Can you post a link to the adapter you purchased?

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

*sigh* I'm not interested in getting into an argument over this subject as it's already been discussed in depth on this forum. The following threads make good reading if anyone is interested: Science, Physics, Math, & Myth Try and look past the lengthy and unnecessary first post as the thread...

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

That's just incorrect. As individual components, there's nothing to make them 'torque' or 'speed' windings. What you are doing is giving a specific context of a complete system with predefined parameters. It is the combination of all these parameters together that dictates the performance of the...

    CA3 Display Question

It's likely that you are shorting the 5V CA supply to ground with an incorrect throttle connection. Verify that the throttle wire connections are correct (they won't be) and swap them around so that they are.

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

So much misinformation in this thread. I thought we had gotten past the notion of 'torque' or 'speed' windings. Differing windings are capable of exactly the same amount of torque per unit of heat generated, they just take different combinations of voltage & current to supply the wattage required.

    hidden wire brake sensor... ?

No. The brake sensor only detects movement in a single direction. The gear sensor detects movement in both directions.

    Regen

Putting the fact that it's a bad idea aside for a moment, if you're only planning on using the second motor for regen while coasting, why not just use the existing motor?

type 2 connector for an ebike??

    higher or lower kv

That's not correct. Since you're not adjusting any other system parameters to account for the differing winding speeds, you're making an 'apples & oranges' comparison. If you proportionally adjust the voltage by the same amount as the current, both motors will run with the same RPM range and...

    higher or lower kv

Not quite. Assuming both motors have the same copper fill.... You're forgetting the fact that if you also proportionally reduce the voltage supplied to the higher kV motor at the same time as increasing the current, you get the same heat generated while producing the same torque from the same...

Assistance with Rear Hub Motor, Speed Control and Battery Selection for a High Speed World Record Attempt Ebike

Hi again Andy. How long is the wheelbase of the frame in question? I'm willing to bet you'll have to double it to make the bike stable at those sort of speeds.

    Opportunity Charging in the UK

You also need a way of shutting off the control signal for times when the charging point refuses to release your adapter. A keyswitch is probably best. A momentary button will also suffice if you don't need the adapter to remain secure when plugged in. TBH, I'd just buy this ready made one...
