48v to 12v step down to power 300-500 watt inverter

was curious what is the cheapest/best solution to run a dc to ac power inverter on a 22ah 45 volt pack i built.

anyone who cares i bought one from china and it works great.... 25 amp version. 48v to 12v 25 amp step down converter

You can buy a 48V input inverter. Then you won't have the inefficiency from the step down converter, plus higher voltage input inverters are generally more efficient to begin with.

good point but i wanted to be able to use 12v applications too... in fact mostly 12v applications... may need to get a 48v inverter as well though.

I've seen some inverters intended for solar operation that work on around 10-60V input, although more expensive probably cheaper than buying 2 inverters. I don't recall where I saw them though or I'd post a link.
