Biggest Chainring

> How about using a Schlumpf Speed Drive instead

Last time I priced a Schlumpf drive, it was so expensive I could have replaced my 48v battery for a 52v battery for the same price and be going 35mph instead of 32mph top speed. E.g. 10x the cost of the chain wheel.

I do have a 9t freewheel coming this month to replace the 11-34t, though. Should help and only $15. I never change gears anyway, so having a range of gears is useless.

> above 30 mph, aero drag from pedaling begins to eat up more energy than most people make with the pedals

Definitely not true at 32mph, though. I commute 20 miles to work. If I don't pedal, my battery dies halfway. Especially helpful maintaining speed on hills and reducing energy cost of 100% throttle starts from traffic lights too.

Field weakening on a hub motor is incredibly expensive power wise. Anything you can contribute on the top end helps immensely. E.g. if I drop field weakening from 15A to 0A I can make it without pedaling, but my top speed is only 25mph.
