FOC Fardriver with PMSM motor?

Hi,
We bought this Fardriver controller, which says it has FOC for PMSM, but it doesn't work.
I'm not sure which the encoder wire is.. is it the purple 'digital one'?
I'm even thinking this might be for regular DC motor with 3 halls but I'm not sure of the model numbers.
Anyone know this well enough to advise?

And we tried to connect the Hall sensor plug up in the same standard way as with hub motors:

I would expect a "B" somewhere in the model number if it was for encoder.
I think the wiring is different too? I dont have any B version myself, but it shouldnt be very hard to find a wiring diagram and compare. Nothing in the fardriver thread?
