I have been driving cheap escooters for about 4 years now, the last one my charger shorted burnt the bike to the ground. Now I plan to build a real EV bike. To start I have ordered a frame from Ebay from China. I then bought a Norco Atomic for parts to make the build faster. The Atomic has a 888 Bomber front fork and will donate crank and arms along with Brakes and front spindle. I then went to Ebay for a 25ah 48volt lifepo4 various lights and switches. I ordered so far a 19x1.85 36h rim to do the moto 19 inch conversion and a set of SHINKO 2.75-19 SR244. I will be using a 1500watt gearless hub motor high torque so top speed will be only about 55km/h. I came across this site researching the 19 moto conversion.
I am overwhelmed with the site and will read every night till all my parcels arrive. Chinese new year is slowing things a bit. When I figure how to load pictures I will add to this thread and keep thread going throughout the build. I need this bike for work so I am keeping it low powered to keep from being hassled.
I have one question from the moto conversion though, Why not use milling machine to bore the holes to fit the heavy gage spoke of the motocross rim? If a milling machine was used you could keep full amount of material on outside of hub for strength.
