My controller reads speed set 1-4 2v what does that mean?

I got a new controller that reads speed set 1-4 2v

What does that mean ?

I think it refers to the throttle input being active from 1V to 4.2V.

Does throttle voltage have any effect on pas performance? Seems to me they would be unrelated

A good system looks at the signals from both the PAS sensor and the throttle, and gives control to the side that wants to go faster. This should be the same whether the PAS system is cadence or torque sensing.

There are crap systems that don't do this. I have bikes where the throttle is limited to far less power than what the pedal assist can put out.

no, not the throttle output voltage. The 5v supply voltage from the controller supports other functions, like PAS, or the hall sensors so if you fry that, it would suck.
