I ordered the chopper style tri forks instead of the suspension cruiser forks because they had the front disk brake option
OMG when I ordered the rear CUTE-12 motor I didnt even consider the rear drop out space of the cruiser. Its only a little larger than 4.25" wide. It will not fit! Not even close. So a rear hub motor is not an option!
So I ordered a front Cute-12 motor and had to remove my front disk brake since the front motor does not come with the disk adaptor.

It'll still be fine with a frontie. At one point, I considered trying to build those bikes into ebikes and sell them. Figured they would be cool on campus. Then I realized a few things. Liability, and colledge dudes would rather spend money on beer.
Even though I do like apehangers some, that bike would be bad to the bone with stubby straight bars, Jesse James style. And bolted on footpegs behind the seat.

Cool starting point for an ebike. That frame is steel isn't it? If so, it should be no problem carefully spreading the rear to fit a rear hubbie. I stretched the rear drops on a much smaller frame from 135mm to 210mm (5.3" to 8.25"), so the less than an inch you'd need would be no problem.

Finally got to work on the Beachcruiser some more. The hard part was trying to figure out how and what I was going to use to cover the frame. I decided on some Hard Plywood panels and Hard Pine for the mounts. I sanded the paint off of the area where I was going to install the mounts and used 30 minute Epoxy to mount.
After the mounts were in place I attached one of the side panels using self tapping screws. The other side I wanted to make it so it could be removed easily so I decided to drill larger holes in the mount and epoxied some R/C car body mounting posts I found from my local hobby store.
I covered the Panels with some Carbon Fiber Vinyl purchased from EBAY. The vinyl was easy to install and I think they look pretty good. Next comes the electronics install which my younger brother who I think is an electrical Guru is going to help me out with.

Yah this guy maytag wired it all out after about 3 gin and tonics. We finally got the phase wires working on the last combination of trying them all out.

What controller and battery set-up will you run?
Will the wood/glue frame mounts hold up? There's going to be lots of small shocks, flex and vibrations in the frame. I'm doing something similar and it would look better with your mount, I've been thinking of running hose clamps around the frame. Your set-up is cleaner looking.

Installed the rear fender tonight but cannot install front fender due to having to add reverse caliper brake on front to help with the coaster brakes. Will have pics tomorrow of the completed bike with the rear fender on. Below is a Pic of the first install of the caliper brake mounted on the backside of the front wheel. Have updated it to Tektro Long Reach and Kool Stop pads for better braking.
Had to take Pic of the brother figuring out the wiring with his Gin and Tonic and my Johnny Walker Gold Label in the background. Its the only way to work in a cold garage.

I'm only using a 20amp controller since I made this four just cruising around in my area which is mainly flat roads. The steepest inclines are the over passes.
