Hi guys
I read a build thread where the person replaced the stock oem phases from inside the motor with larger 6awg but removed the silicon coating and shrink wraped it to make it slimmer on all 3 phases to get them through the axle.

The shrink tubing I have is rated 125 degrees celcius, however the silicone Im removing is 200 degrees celcius. Of course the thicker wire with shrink tube is what I want but is 125 deg. shrink tube rated high enough for inside the motor? The motors that possibly will be upgraded are the qs205 and qs273.

Can anyone recommend high temp shrink tube? Dont wanna use any aliexpress tubing.

Thanks!!

Good question, i've used teflon heat shrink for high temp use. It's needing a torch to shrink it though.
Available here but probably all the major electronics stores will carry it.

If your motor is 125c then you probably have bigger problems then your shrink tubing.
When I replaced the stock 14awg phase leads with 10awg magnet wire I used standard shrink tube. It works fine except it was a little soft and tore if I wasn't careful.

However if you want high temperature shrink tubing use the Teflon PTFE high temperature and shrink it with a high heat like a torch.

Ive never had the motor that hot. Im just trying to protect everything as much as possible for potential danger down the road
