Hey guys. I am thinking of building a separate/parallel electrical system for a bike project i am playing with.
What it will be powering is LED headlight/tail light/brake light/turn signals/alarm, as well as a motorcycle handlebar-mount radio. Basically what would normally be run off of the accessories feed from the controller.
Battery would be a SLA (condo rules reasons).
I am thinking of using a 12v/6w generator like this https://amzn.to/3AN1Uww plus one or 2 trickle chargers like this https://amzn.to/3R62pac. to charge the battery. I realize it's a diminishing return, the system is just meant to extend time, not make it indefinite. If I get 2-3 hours run time (mostly radio and brake light) out of the battery with that load before a wall-charge I'll be happy.
I am using steel filing boxes as saddlebags and the system has to fit inside one of them https://amzn.to/3R62pac
Do I need a charge controller, and what kind ? And can anybody suggest what Ah battery would do the job ?
