ill go first, my motor and controller is an ebikekit 36v kit, battery is lifepo4 9h 36v on a 26in mtn bike and i havent drained it all the way but gotten 16+ mile range so far and get about 18-19 mph, a bit slow after i read the ebikekit SLA review getting 23 mph what other setups do you guys have?

That is a bit slow. Have you looked at your voltage with a multimeter? Or do you just ( ahem) have a bit more to carry and use low tire pressure?

23 mph is what I've gotten in 26" wheel, running about 42v under load, flat ground no wind, 180 pound rider and hard street type tires. But later in the ride as voltage falls some then 21 mph is more typical.

Your range seems about right, so I don't really suspect battery capacity. But something might be slowing the bike itself down enough for you to sag to a lower voltage than my pings do. The size of the battery will cause just a bit more sag of course, but I didn't expect that much.

Lastly, is your speedo calibrated? Using the settings in the book are a joke. I find it best to ride a measured mile and set the thing so the odometer is spot on.

There is a breakin period for these batteries - where you should only discharge them about a third of the way for about 10 times and then when you test your range it should be a bit higher - like about 25 percent. Also with the E-Bikekit wheel - it does loosen up a bit and have less drag after a couple of hundred miles of use - which will not get you too much further - maybe an extra mile.

My longest range on a single 50v 10Ah lipo pack was 11mi. and 24mi on dual packs (diode isolated and LVC never reached). I cruise mostly at 30mph, with a section that sees 35mph daily and the net average is 25.x mph. The wh/mi is generally about 30 but goes up near 37 if I push it on takeoff's and cruise closer to 35mph.

Getting 11miles from 9.4ah 16cell battery system.

9C 2807 hub motor. Average speed 25mph, highest speed 30mph on flat with 26 inch wheel.

Bike is Raleigh Gruv 360w cyclone 24v 20ah headway pack Big Apple rear tire.

top speed 24mph, normal cruise 18mph.

Me and bike weigh in at 280lbs.

Range, over 40 miles. Never even close to battery warning light.

My top speed no peddle is 33.4 mph on flat ground sitting upright on a X-large Specialized Crossroad Hybrid with a BMC "S" V3 running a 66.6 volt 15 amp lipo pack. I'm 6'4" 210 lbs and bike is 50 ish pounds. All stock. Max range so far is 40 miles using 11 amps of the 12 available with an average speed of 24 mph and lots of peddling! I did add the Cruise Control and have to say if you have an E-Bike.....you need one of these.

I have 2 eBikes

500w Golden motor with 36v 30Ah PING lifepo4 battery
* Speed: 32Km/h average and 41km/h max (20mi/h avg and 25.6mi/h max)
* Range about 75Km (46.9miles)

1200w Cyclone motor with 48v 20Ah battery Lifepo4
* Speed: 50km/h average and 73km/h max (31.25mi/h avg and 45.6mi/h max)
* Range about 40Km (25miles)

hi Pcarlson,

wow you can get 73km/h from cyclone motors? my max speed i got is 70km/h from the 1000watts/ 1500watts big motor. now my controller 48v 1200watts from cyclone had somehow not working. i have make a full switching to HUb Conhis motor for 1000watts, 48v. On flat i can get a good speed too 52.2km/h . Myself is weight 65kg, was one possible making abit faster. my vpower 48v 20hr. (actual power is 48v 15hr)/ 710watts total, i can get a good range 95km, at a slow speed of 30km/h ~ slow. it depends how fast i need to run. if im running 40km/h ~ 52km/h - i will be using 12 ~14 watts/km.

cammy_CC 500watts kit, 48v . is also exactly the speed top speed like yours 41km/h. is taking 15.44watts/km. takes a bit more power compare to 1000watts kit. nowdays when i done 50km range plus, i will go for a charge. so that the battery lifespan will be longer.

Hi Kentlim,

I'm no lightweight at 120Kg but that 72.3Km/h is caught on my iphone as a video but that is ONLY down a long hill. Slight hill but nice and long. I usually keep around 48-50km/h on the flat with the 1.2Kw cyclone kit. I'm chaning to a new bike with Nuvinci hub tomorrow so I'm keen to try that...Yay! no more clanging of gear changes

Holy Moly!!

I would kill for that fuel economy!! My 500w front hub I average about 18wh/km on a fantastic eco run (36v30Ah)
And i can only get 28wh/km on my 1200w cyclone kit (48v25Ah)

Maybe it will get better as I lose the weight, I'm nearly double your weight at the moment.

Top speed flat with no wind 22-23 mph.

Max range with constant moderate pedaling gently rolling terrain light winds: 70 miles (Best ever 87 miles, with 15 mph tailwind for whole ride).
Typical range (on/off pedalling, more hills, etc.): 50-55 miles
Range no pedal: 35-40 miles (with typical Boston areas small hills)

This is with a 20ah - 48 volt Ping battery.

regards,
Bill

about how many more mph do you guys pedal to increase your range? thats some good range bill do you pedal 1-2 mph above what the motor gives u? between one and the other your range is almost double, id love to get that kind of performance out of my 9.5ah, what motor do you use? is it 48v or 36v?

75.9V, 23S3P, 6.9AH, A123, Golden motor replica, me 135 lb's, bike 75 lb's.

43-44 mph (70 km/h) with head tucked down on the strait. Been up to 46mph (74 km/h) so far down a slight grade.

8 mile range romping and wide open throttle
17 mile range very easy going 15-20mph (24-32 km/h) with slight pedal assisting.
