Setup: Main players: CAv3, PhaserunnerV6, MXUS XF19-FAT motor (has combined thermal and rpm pulses on one wire)
What's Working: Phaserunner is able to separate out the rpm/thermal signals no problem, debug screen (with wheel size and 1 pulse per rotation set) I see a km/h speed reading I would expect whether under motor power or pedal power. The motor temps come across fine as well.
Problem: The CA, sometimes, shows the speed all over the place and, as a result, is killing output throttle making the motor stutter start/stop.
Sometimes I turn the bike on and it's working fine and dandy showing me exactly the right speeds under both conditions. Other times, however, it turns on and thinks that I'm going 88mph no 15mph no wait 145mph hold on 8mph nah 75mph uhoh 15,043mph. Point is, it's all over the damn place and this triggers the CA to go into "over speed" mode or something and pulls the throttle down (even though I'm in bypass, which is odd...). This makes the motor stutter all over the place and is generally unrideable.
Theory: So, it would seem like there is some kind of occasional interference/noise on the signal line. I figured, maybe it was because I had the WP8 plug bundled up near a battery cable, or threaded through the internal housing, or bunched up with all the other junk at the top with the CA. So, I separated out the WP8 cable and pulled it waaaay off to the side, yet it still has the speed signal bouncing all over the places.
I did some searching around here (1, 2) but didn't quite pull up anything similar yet. I don't really want to go and have to install an external speedo, seems like a waste if I can figure out where the interference is instead.
Not really sure how to further debug what gnarly thing I've done to make this temperamental. Thoughts? Thanks!
