    New Zealand represent

When I had visited Queenstown, NZ I saw some eBikes for rent. It looked like they were professional eBikes... so nothing too fast. I do not know if the bike shop was selling eBikes. Good luck finding others. -Kendall

    My first e-bike build

Nice clean looking build. Congrats. Question though, why take apart the controller & batteries when you get to work? Could you not simply bring your bike inside and store it somewhere? You should ask your boss; I keep mine in the server room.

finally got my batteries 4 20v 6ah greenpower

I'm not sure of the answer but you may have better luck over in the Battery Technology forum here: http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=14 I'd guess that the packs own 5s BMS boards would be fine to hook up together in 10s2p. The BMS looks for high or low voltage and shuts the...

Who uses Slip Charge mode on their controller? I love it!

A right turn signal is properly done with the left arm bent upwards, this allows you to keep your right hand on the throttle. Not many people know this though so most simply stick their right arm out. bonus: Left arm bent downwards means slowing down / stopping.

    bicycle frame???

Another factor to remember is brakes. Ideally you want disc brakes and the bike frame has to have a mount for them, like this . Only going 20mph is pretty slow though so you might be alright with V brakes. I'd still want disc brakes though (and regen braking :D )

Disc brakes for motors without them.

And this : http://www.hnmotors.de/product_info.php?products_id=113&XTCsid=c2e41ab37d88d903d625a3c4aa6bbe0b I ended up having to add a few washers between the disc brake and the adapter in order to get the disc brake to line up. Works decently well. I'm curious if the Leaf bike one would fit...

    48v kit to 72v,

I can answer a couple of these.. Yes. Higher top speed comes from higher voltages. Higher acceleration comes from higher amps from the controller. No.

    Field boxes for lipo batteries?

I've seen quite a few tool boxes mounted on the front or back of the bicycle, attached to a rear bike rack or a front basket thing. Similar concept as that small field box thing. How are you going to mount it on to the frame?

    My bike build log

Was that at Walmart? I remember when buying mine at first they tried to sell me one without peddles. They just weren't there. They have a few bikes though and I picked out one that had peddles and could peddle. hah

    2nd build. eBike v2.0 w/ disc brakes!

On Monday I rode my bike out to Karbach Brewery to drink free beer. My bike held up great but the next morning I noticed my rear disc brake disc was able to freely move around. I'm not sure how I didn't notice it the night before but it was like the adapter thing to mount the disc brake disc had...

    2nd build. eBike v2.0 w/ disc brakes!

Got her running. I used some shipping bubble mailers along the top of the frame tube to protect the bake cable and it doesn't stick anymore. It kind of blends in to the bike too, hard to notice since the bike is yellow. edit: I am really enjoying this bike! The shocks on this handle 40mph...

    My bike build log

I think welding is probably one of the best ways.. Here's some options: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29129&hilit=torque+arm non weld: http://www.conhismotor.com/ProductShow.asp?id=166 you'll want 2 of them, one for each side of the hub motor.

Anyone have aggressive confontations with pedestrians?

In that dude's defense: I remember as a kid riding my bicycle to the park or something and a dog ran out in front of my friend's bike :( It was very sad, the dog's neck took a good blow as my friend was stopping. The dog ended up being OK if I can recall. They gave it some Ibuprofen. Dogs be...

    2nd build. eBike v2.0 w/ disc brakes!

Okay I got my 2nd eBike up and running! It took a bit of motivation for me to actually cut up the connectors on my controller and do the soldering necessary to complete my build. The motivation was me riding my normal bike while my brother rode my 1st eBike... It's hot in Houston right now. One...

    My bike build log

I've got that exact Roadmaster Granite 26" bike. I ended up having to remove the rear V brakes because the frame wasn't wide enough to get the hub motor on and I had to cut one of the spacer washers that centers the hub motor. With regen braking it works well enough. See my signature for more...

    Ebike "The Resurrection"

I'd recommend not going below 73V on your discharges.. it will keep your batteries in better shape to improve the amount of cycles you'll get out of the cells. I run 20s as well and don't go below 74V to be safe (3.7V per cell). Refer to dogman's signature here: "THE LIPO RULES. NEVER ABOVE...

can my cellman pack be revived?

Did you try using a multimeter to see what voltage it has? If it's all the way down to 0 it may be dead.. but if its still got some juice I'd bet you could make it a zombie battery pack.
