I can't seem to find much info online [a bad sign perhaps]? Any options out there that could deliver more bang for the 800 usd price tag?? No problem if Id get lots more value somewhere else by fronting an extra two hundred dollars.

Thanks!!

How about this motor? It's very discounted so it's pretty cheap right now...

I have this motor in my Mira and can say that it is very well built as I have had it apart to modify it.
My local motor rewinder says its vacuum lacquered, has gun barrel stator (twisted), has permenant magnets that are wrapped with fiberglass type matting and end capped to stop centrifuging.
Only problem is the motor has no real cooling system. I think the insides of the motor would resist the effects of transmission fluid so you could experiment with liquid cooling.
I have run an air cooling (flow through system) and have never seen winding temps go about 95C even in summer but liquid cooling would be run through the cars heater core for winter.
The KLM is the second motor config in the Mira and starts on page 21 in DIY forum.
