Hi guys, could U pls help me to understand what is wrong with the connection? I wanted to test battery/ motor but a display is not working and a throttle does nothing... The power button on the frame is enabled. The battery is charged. Thanks for any advice.IMG_20210430_162259_580.jpg
Hi guys, I need your help, seems I have found a root cause. Due to I have bought a frame and a motor from different sellers I have stock wires for the motor. I need to connect Y-wire higo 3pin orange male to female. But the question is where should I connect the other cutted side with num 2 on the picture below to?20210611_091411.jpg

Ok but this case I can't still switch on the display... What is the difference between bafang battery and mine? IMG_20210612_140153_872.jpg

Check that all the connectors are inserted well, the ones on the motor are a little hard. Check if you have bent any connector pins.

All the connections are properly inserted, the only left unplugged is an orange triangle higo 3pin. The one more I have noted regarding on/off button is that in "off" mode it shows 47v in "on" mode 52v. I assume additional 5v in "on" mode should go to a display because the only display can enable the motor. The other way how does the button work? What's is the voltage of the display it works on?

Do you have a chance to try another display?
Yours is probably faulty.
If you have the BESST interface you can check it.
It happened to me in two MTBs and I had to replace the display.

I don't have another display. Does anyone know an operating voltage of this display? Maybe I will be able to check the display apart...

I can confirm that the drive is fully functional even without connecting the CAN battery
I recommend treating all electrical connections with a product for electrical connectors. A really push, especially those going into the engine rather difficult.

Did they go back to the plastic gear?
I hope they changed the material, did you see if it is yellow (Peek plastic like the one sold by LUNA)?

I mounted my fourth M600 motor, and I realized that this is quieter than the previous ones.
Anyone know what has been changed in the latest version?
I have dissasemble my brand new motor(Firm 47.6) because I have a torque sensor problem, and they have change the plastic gear.

It is white so its plastic, but I don´t know which material is made of. If I dissasemble it again I will check.

I need an extension for the speed sensor cable on my Bafang M500. (MM G520.250) The plugs are 4 pin, blue trapezoids, [isosceles trapezoids (isosceles trapezium in British English)] and look like this:

Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thank you CiDi! I was actually on that website before, but did not find the connectors, since I did not know their designation: HIGO Mini-F series.

https://www.e-bike-technologies.de/index.php/en/connectors/connectors-signal/connectors-higo-mini-f-series/higo-b4-f-detail

https://www.e-bike-technologies.de/index.php/en/connectors/connectors-signal/connectors-higo-mini-f-series/higo-s4-f-detail

So, now I am set, and can custom design the wiring harness for my HP Velotechnik Scorpion FS16 conversion, with the Bafang M500 (MM G520.250).

Who was interested, I have coded the motor connectors.

Just checking back in to this thread as I'm planning to rid myself of Luna'a custom (aka cluster) firmware. Is 46.7 a recent release? The date indicates it was released back in November so I'm guessing not. How does it compare to 46.6? On the luna forum the consensus seems to be 46.6 wasn't the best:

@Cidi what is your source for the newest firmware? I’m looking for the newest m500 48v firmware.
Thanks

Bafang's service, but I don't always answer.

I asked Bafang for the latest firmware available for M600 48V and they sent me this.
Compared to 46.6 the differences are negligible.

Has anyone tried to run the motor with external motor controller like VESC and so fully unlock the motor speed and power?
No but i have a couple of VESC's, Not sure i'm ready to gut my M600 just yet though  One day...
casainho said:
-- I only see 3 inputs to a motor controller:
1. battery which is unlocked already on Bafang motors
2. torque sensor (that also includes the cadence sensor)
3. button remote control
Also a throttle input. The buttons go to the controller via the display

I am sharing all this information in the hope some advanced user may want to go with this route of using OpenSource technology to drive Bafang M600 or M800 motor and share with us more information on how to do that. More info here: https://opensourceebike.github.io/

I loved your work on the TSDZ2, it was my first ebike build, and i still think the "Torque Assist" and "eMTB Assist" modes feel way more natural than any of the Bafang firmwares including the latest 46.7 that is on my M600

Hey all,

Building my e10 carbon m600 ebike and nearly finished but missing the m600 lockring? Live in Sydney but does anybody know where I can buy this part...luna don't sell it. Thanks Nick

Are you talking about the ring itself or tool to do it up?
I don't have a spare ring but did modify a tool to install it.

Dear folks and software specialists. I hope I did not miss the requested sub-thread only for Bafang software stuff.
If YES, please move this input over....

I bough a USB2CAN analyzer from InnoMaker. BTW, both (normal and DEVKIT board) devices under the given link are firmware wise identical as confirmed by Calvin from InnoMaker 'The firmware on the MCU of USB2CAN is 100% same as USB2CAN DEVKIT.
USB2CAN DEVKIT was designed for the customer who want to use the USB2CAN core board. Some people said the size of USB2CAN is too big.'

I ordered the DEVKIT version and was not sure....

To my findings and questions from an amateur, more a trial & error type guy :D
All wiring done acc. to all the great help from the IT insiders here. Excellent job!
  • In Loop back mode there is no communication only a steady blue light showing its connected and hopefully working.
  • Switching to Normal mode and scanning the LED starts flashing and RX starts (see file) -was in fact shown in the screenshot from CiDi-

Conclusion 1: its communicating :thumb:
Q 1: in the ~2:30min Rx file I can not see any frameID 0x85103203
Is this because the bike is stationary? I did not wanna drive around with a notebook strapped to my bike.
Q 2: can I still TX data with the given values for speed, wheel seize, circumference even there is no frameID to correct?
Q 3: are those input options related to each other? like circumference or wheel seize x rpm = speed or are they independent. In other words, do I need to correct all three if I wanna do like 30km/h max.
Can I keep max 25km/h and/or wheel seize (actual is 27.5") and modify actual max speed by circumference to show 'correct settings' if needed as wheel seize and max speed are in the look up fields on the bike display if I'm not mistaken :D .

Hopefully at the end of the whole process we will have a foolproof checklist that will cover all steps from start (links to order hardware) to finish (adjustments shown on LED display) for specialist like myself.

Thanks again for the great inputs.
Martin

Dear folks and software specialists. Me again.

Let me add that I am talking about a M500 system coming with a Dengfu E10 frame as a set. Mini b/w LCD and the standard big +/- /ON/OFF/Boost device.

I was biting the bullet and just gave it a try to upload the given data from Jootje. frameID 85 10 32 03 and Data input B8 0B C0 2B E2 08 00 00. Unfortunately a similar result to Serafko. Making a quick ride and double checking the display information data is was still 25km/h max speed with tire 27.5". As the speed shows anyway nearly 10% over on the display I assume the they show 27.5" but compute and indicate based on 29" wheel.

There are a few options to communicate with the bike. The main PWR switch is ON
  • display OFF (black)
  • display ON and light mode (longer press + button)
  • display ON and NO light mode
under all these status options there is communication with the software (WIN10) and the USB2CAN adapter (blinking blue LED)
I tried them all to load the 30km/h speed limit and none was working. All with USB device still connected to the LCD. Straight after upload and after restarting the system via main ON/OFF switch, not only by ON/OFF button on the control device.

Well I am clueless now. At least the bike did not go into any get lost mode and kicked me out.
Any assistance appreciated. Plan B would be BESST tool or the speed device I think from Italy.

thanks again

HI , great tutorial od CiDi , but on M420 bafang motor there is a different plug.
No Higo
Its a 04T-JWPF-VSLE-S plug (Female a Male) behind the motor cover
But wires are alls white, impossible to know Green White Black wire
Anybody have an idea about this?
