Regen on a hub motor

Hi all.

I currently have a 1000w 48v system on a converted old mountain bike.

It works a treat but I have been wondering about a regen controller.

The motor is the usual 3 phase with a hall sensor.

Does anyone have any controller and screen recommendations?

I've looked on the usual ebay/aliexpress options but there are just so many.

Not looking at spending big bucks - this bike is just something I take to the shops and go for short rides on.

Your controller maybe regen capable. What brand and model. Regen should not cost extra money, it's a feature on most controllers. Setting it up may take some work.

Thanks - I didn't even think that it would be. I will get the make/model of controller tonight and let you know.

Cheers!

Thank you - I will take a look!

Here's some pics of my controller.

Doesn't appear to be anything connected to the EBS pin though....

On my ebikeling controller that looks similar to that, I was instructed to connect my EBS pad to ground, and it works! You'll probably have to test on an actual ride down a hill with the battery half full. There's a delay after pulling the brake lever before regen kicks in, and regen isn't very strong when the battery is full.

Oh awesome - I wasn't sure if this is the case or not! I'm about done building a replacement battery as the ebay special I bought 6 years and over 10,000km's later is starting to show it's age. And only has 2000mah cells as well.

Once done building it I'm going to re-wire the bike and try the EBS to ground trick.

Cheers!
