Scooters with tension in the steering?

Motorcycle gloves with body armor and helmet should be ok at 18mph with some rolling. Slamming dead stop into a wall or being hit by a car I would agree less fun. I've fallen over at 0mph on a bike and it sucked.

Scooters with tension in the steering?

Also everyone should be wearing more protective gear when riding the small wheel death traps. Crazy that any of them are allowed to go over 18 mph

    The Ultimate GoPed ESR1500 Build

Very cool. I love Grin Technologies. Their charger is what I use. I'm using ultra cheap $4 speedometers already that are good enough for around town. The ESR controller has no issue with a proper battery with sufficient amperage support. I just need to wait until better cells are around for the...

    Goped ESR high voltage cutoff

Poking around some more it appears the AMI chip handles the motor control while the PIC does the battery charging. I think that is the case since the PIC places itself in reset by pulling up ground when the throttle button is pressed. (#8 signal below) The power button also drives the Vreg...

K2 Energy battery packs in Goped ESR750

Chargers typically apply a voltage across both parallel pack and then the BMS handle the cells. Ebike controller should work just fine with the K2 since likely not asking for 100A

K2 Energy battery packs in Goped ESR750

I had the same setup and the Go Ped ESR controller will trip the BMS in the battery if you slam the throttle to 100%. Disconnect the battery and plug back in and able to drive again. I have yet to find a way to limit how many amps the Go Ped controller wants to pull from the BMS.

    K2 battery

I originally used the K2 BMS but later swapped to these 12V BMS since the max operating current was higher. Let me know if you find a better 24V with even better specs to the K2 cells.

    K2 battery

I used this board. It works better than the K2 one that was included but still cannot handle the instant amp request of the ESR controller. (which I hear can be 100A+) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CB14RT1 Maximum operating current: 30A Maximum instantaneous current: 56A Over charge...

Nice work! What motor are you using? I found the silver case brushes will melt at 36V on hills. Where did you get the controller?

You have a wealth of knowledge on the different scooters since you have a variety. I am sure others can get a scooter for cheap from Amazon or Costco but likely it's heading to the trash in 2-3 years.

    The Ultimate GoPed ESR1500 Build

From what I've read Steve Patmont was just defending their registered patents to stand up gas scooters. That was to stop the flood of copied, mass produced overseas scooters in the 90s. It takes time and money to create multiple Jigs to test and find the proper frame geometry. Someone else can...

I feel like my battery bike isn’t going as far as it should

You might want to try and cool you cells just as a mechanical suggestion besides your electrical programming thing.

The Dragonfly, 48v, Dual 500w hub motors, 4-wheel independent wishbone suspension.

Probably closest would be the Hollyburn from Works Electric. Not sure why on pavement you would want all the suspension since larger rubber should do the job. https://www.works-electric.com/

    Goped ESR high voltage cutoff

There is no conspiracy. The controller is made in the USA and I own a Go-Prammer. They aren't fake. The Go-Prammer is a subset adjustment tool of the US company that creates the DC brush controller used in the ESR. I would of liked for the Go-Prammer to also have the acceleration curve...

Change the BMS for a bigger one?

How do the shunts work and why does adding more solder help with more current? Could you measure the resistance and then add another piece of wire vs. adding solder?
