Hi i have a Bafang C965, A 48v 18a controiller and a hub motor.
The display gives error 07H (overvoltage protection).

But the battery reads just 50V so thats fine.
Can i be sure its a controller issue?
Can the motor somehow affect this error code?

Kind regards
Frederik

If the error is actually battery overvoltage (not phase) then if it is a "dual voltage" controller that can also run on 36v, it might have autodetected 36v (like if it was powered on when the battery was down at 41-42v), and so think your battery is overcharged now.

Sometimes just power-cycling it will fix that, but it may require disconnecting the battery, pressing the power button to try turning it on without the battery to clear the caps, then reconnecting the battery and turning back on again.

Some displays have a setting for which voltage they are using.

Thanks amberwolf
I tried clearing the caps but to no avail.
I cant even reach the settings bc of the error code. :)

I checked the phases on the controller and no shorts either to ground or positive.
I tried testing the motor as well and its reluctant with the phases crossed so i assume its fine :)
I ordered up some parts to try and exclude.

But i would like to now what failed before i plug in new stuff :)

It's unlikely to be a motor issue--almost certainly it's a display fault. There are probably posts about this issue for this specific display around here if you poke around.
