Thanks, 22s would be great. Perfect for running 4.15v per cell.

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Interesting about the firmware, thanks for letting me know. OVS is maxed, with a speed limit of 110kph set in case I'm spinning the wheel without load. Battery and phase values are maxed, but I can't recall their values. I'll check that soon. I seem to recall the FET temp values were all...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I'd really like to know how hard the Max-E can be pushed before stuff starts popping. Has anyone here gone beyond the factory max values? I was considering liquid cooling the FETs if it means I can get more juice out of it. I'm fairly light, so my Cromotor still doesn't get hot even with every...

Yep, time for him to contact Tench and finally get an axle that isn't Chinese ultra-low-grade crap :)

My HT35 has been on a diet

Ti axle, CNC weight-loss program... I think you've won the award for "most improved" C-lyte hub motor. Would be even better with holes in the side-covers. More weight to be saved! ;)

    controller help PLEASE!

There's also at least a 1 second delay on power-up before many DC-DC converters output anything. Might've been enough time for the controller to see an "ok" low voltage throttle signal, then it shot straight to around 5v.

AM dual motor = bafang middrive + rear hub motor

Did you get 26" or 24" hookworms? 2-ply? They stopped making the 24's a while ago, they're becoming very rare. Best bicycle tires I've used, but I'll be sticking to motorcycle rubber and tubes from now on. The crappy thing is that 24" downhill tubes are also becoming rare. Much of the existing...

    controller help PLEASE!

By the way, most controllers require an input voltage between 0.8-4.0v ish. Yours was probably working ok. Your top speed at 72v could've been correct too, depending on wheel size. For more speed you'd either need to up the voltage or set an overspeed option in your controller settings.

    controller help PLEASE!

I'm a bit unclear about how or why the DC-DC converter is involved here. If you have nothing but the controller hooked up to the motor + a hall-sensor throttle, is the wheel still hard to turn?

    controller help PLEASE!

Yeah, sounds like the phases are shorted somewhere. Is the motor still hard to turn if you unplug everything from your controller and the motor wires aren't touching each other?

BMX cranks in small sizes can get pretty expensive too, and you'd need to order from overseas. Unicycle cranks come in any size you want, and they start as cheap as $15. Standard mounts, ISIS, etc. http://www.municycle.com.au/View.php?action=Page&Name=Cranks Not sure how much that helps, but...

    Doc and Luke's Death-Bike!!

Epic bike, looks like so much fun. I also can't believe that rear-wheel holds up. Anyone that's ridden this thing ever slammed in to a bump/pothole by accident? :)

Battery assembly kit for 18650 cells - first prototype

I wouldn't have considered those "basically free", and certainly wouldn't want a bunch of used Konions on any of my bikes :) I assumed you were referring to things like recycled/discarded laptop cells, etc. There's been cases of ES members buying these in bulk and then expecting to build a new...

Battery assembly kit for 18650 cells - first prototype

The "basically free" cells won't be capable of any meaningful output power in the numbers we're fitting on a bike, unless you're running a 250w system :)

    Samsung 25R/LG 18650HE2/ Sony VTC5 high power 18650 battery

Apparently one downside to those models is that the tips wear down after 60-100 welds (according to some of the manufacturers). I wonder if we can find higher quality tips? (like Tungsten, etc). For Australian members, that spot welder model is going for $145 shipped on Ebay from China.

    Samsung 25R/LG 18650HE2/ Sony VTC5 high power 18650 battery

Also curious which model you went with. Are the welds strong, have you tested them by trying to pry apart with your hands?

Battery assembly kit for 18650 cells - first prototype

Exactly, 3D printing isn't much of a solution here at all. There's far more practical methods to produce plastic parts in quantity. It looks great, very clean. What would be the ballpark costs for laser cutting tabs to accommodate something like a 20s14p (single rows of 14) pack?

    Animalector's Ebike Builds

I'd bet the Tektro barely sees any wear combined with the regen, the wheel will lock up well before it's doing any real work. I'm still waiting on the Dorados too (buying one from another ES member when they arrive). Cheers
