    Kid car melting switches

    Been working on my Granddaughter 12v Amg Mercedes ride ;) It is melting the switch and connector for the fwd/rev. One wire gets hot. Should I just find a heavier dtdp. Switch. Also would a power tool battery work good. Keeping the voltage up should lower the amps yes?
